I lived in San Diego, California from age six until August 20th, 2022. When my only son graduated from college and proceeded to get a job at the University of North Carolina, he asked if I would consider moving…here I am!
I have been in education for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it! My Bachelor of Arts degree is from the University of California at Santa Barbara where I was on an athletic scholarship for softball. After getting my teaching credential and beginning my career, I obtained a Master of Education degree from the University of San Diego in Curriculum and Instruction (with an emphasis in Literacy.) I have taught grades 7-12 (all levels and all abilities) and been involved in various leadership roles within the San Dieguito Union High School district.
I feel blessed to have been able to cultivate a career that allows me the joy of learning every day and the ability to bring knowledge and light to others. Although it was difficult to leave students and a community I love in a public-school setting, I am thrilled to be able to nourish my Catholic faith and have the opportunity to become a part of your parish, school, and community.
Beyond my career, I am a bibliophile through and through! I am also a proud mama of an only son and a dog: the more time I get to spend with them, the better! So far, I am absolutely loving the beauty of North Carolina. The trails, the trees, the sweet people, and the sweet treats I continue to encounter are amazing (and very different from the San Diego Beach atmosphere!)
