My name is Kristin Kolodziejski (pronounced Kola-jay-ski) and I am overjoyed to be joining the St. Thomas More family as a third grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. I am very excited to get to know all of you, and I wanted to share a bit about myself so that you can learn a little about me!
I am currently in my 13th year of teaching, and have taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. I worked for 11 years for the Baltimore County Public School System in Maryland, and for the past 2 years have worked for the Chatham County School System. I attended Towson University in Maryland for undergraduate and graduate studies. I am planning to continue my education by completing the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. I am excited to share my knowledge with students and staff and hope to continue to learn and grow from the STM community.
My family and I relocated to Cary, North Carolina last year after my husband's job got transferred. We always thought we would live in Maryland our whole lives but welcomed the opportunity and challenge of moving to a new area. Along with my husband, I have 2 children; Logan and Harper. You will find me most weekends running them to their many actiities or exploring the new area as a family!
It was my children's experience in Catholic school that first drew me to the idea of teaching in a Catholic school. Seeing my children learn and thive in a Christ-based environment and hearing the joy and excitement that they would share with me daily made me realize the exceptional gift of a Catholic education. I also came to realize, through prayer, that I wanted to be a part of it as well, which led me to seek out employment as a teacher in a Catholic school. After meeting with administration and staff at St. Thomas More, I am confident I have found my new home as an educator.
