Kate Shaw

I began my career with St. Thomas More Catholic School working as a substitute teacher. I knew I had found the perfect community for me.  I love the commitment and dedication of the teachers and staff to the mission of STM and I’m honored to serve as the teacher in the three-year-old Preschool classroom. My previous teaching positions have included preparing four-year-olds for Kindergarten in a Child Care Center and teaching both performing arts and Kindergarten at St. Anne’s Belfield in Charlottesville, VA.  I taught at the Williamsburg Kindermusik School, working with children from 18 months to four years old.  I was the preschool assistant and Kindergarten teacher at the Art Garden Montessori School here in Chapel Hill. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Theatre Arts from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo.
