7th & 8th Grade Language Artsjbergstmcsnc.orgAfter 13 years in China, I am delighted to return to North Carolina to join the St. Thomas More family! Originally a Michigander, I studied organ and Musicology at Oberlin, Notre Dame and Duke. While at Oberlin, I was confirmed Catholic. In 2009, I moved abroad to discern a monastic vocation, but ultimately realized that teaching is my calling. Having taught English during my first years here, I decided to enroll at University of Nottingham’s Ningbo campus, where I earned an MA in applied linguistics and English teaching, and where I am about to complete the Ph.D. Much to the consternation of my students, I specialize in grammar and academic writing.
